Essence of Character - 2020

Exploring the unique characters of Korean and Japanese writing. Imagining the words themselves existing like living things. Applying alcohol from a dropper to move and activate unique and subtle layers. Reacting with the water, paper, and pigment, this gave it a life of it's own that was beyond my control and had me deeply immersed in the wonder of what these words and characters mean and how human language has evolved and developed over time.
